XBOW Integration for Jira

XBOW Integration for Jira creates Jira work items from XBOW findings, consolidating remediation work in your team’s existing Jira project.
The integration can run in two modes:
- Unidirectional mode creates Jira work items from XBOW findings.
- Bidirectional mode creates Jira work items and writes selected Jira workflow information back to XBOW.
Bidirectional mode writes the Jira issue reference and mapped external workflow state back to XBOW. It does not let Jira change the XBOW vulnerability lifecycle state.
XBOW remains the source of truth for finding details and vulnerability lifecycle state. Jira remains the remediation workspace for your team.
Security overview
The app runs on Atlassian Forge, stores installation-specific configuration in Forge storage, verifies XBOW webhook signatures, and uses a write-only XBOW API token.

What the integration does
The integration can:
- Create one Jira work item for each XBOW finding.
- Let Jira admins choose the Jira project, issue type, labels, priority mapping, title template, description template, and detail placement.
- Convert supported Markdown formatting from XBOW findings into Jira formatting.
- Add longer finding sections, such as evidence and mitigation, to the Jira description or separate comments based on your mapping.
- Check required Jira fields before saving a mapping.
- Show recent integration events so Jira admins can troubleshoot setup and delivery issues.
- Write the Jira issue key and mapped Jira workflow state back to XBOW.

You can configure the integration from three main views:
- Configuration connects the Jira app to your XBOW organization.
- Mapping controls how XBOW findings become Jira work items.
- Events shows recent activity, supported retries, and support-safe debug information.
